October was National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and although I am a supporter of finding a cure, I also believe that every cancer deserves to be recognized and mentioned as much as breast cancer is. Some of the largest money makers out there are doing just that MAKING MONEY and putting it in their pockets, not using the money to go towards the cause, very few non profit organizations give 100% back to the cause, in fact one of the largest "non-profit" organizations made over 300 million dollars in 2010 and only 20% went into actual research or programs for breast cancer patients. When people ask me about supporting breast cancer awareness month I always say I do support it but I always make sure where my money is going before I give to a non-profit organization. ACS supports all research and 100% of all money made through fund raising goes right back into the programs they have for cancer patients and their families.. I LOVE IT.

I suppose this is a outlook. I fairly often relate with people who rather pronounce only what they make believe others like to examine. Fine plus well crafted! I most definitely will get back to your webblog absolutely!

I just happened to stumble upon your blog while looking for something else. I hope you don't mind me commenting. I don't know your situation with cancer but I suggest you watch Dr. Burzynski on Net Flix if you have it. It's a documentary on how he has been able to help MANY people with cancer. He still practices in Arizona. It's an amazing documentary, partly sad because like you said, there are many out there fundraising all in good "name" for a cause but don't necessarily give to the programs it proclaims it does.

I wish I could have been there for your speech! I have been volunteering for the NAU Relay for Life committee for the past three years. We are the group of students that put together the wonderful Relay event up here on campus. I have grown to love ACS and all it stands for. I am glad to see that they are getting you involved.
